Minneapolis, MN. USA (OCT 2010) - www.chiefmfg.com - The submissions are in and the finalists have been chosen for CE Pro’s second annual “Mount This!” contest sponsored by Chief.

The “Mount This!” contest was created to discover the most inventive flat-panel TV installations and to pay tribute to those brave installers who can make a customer’s craziest dream home theater setup come true. The contest was announced on the CE Pro website in July and calls for submissions were accepted via email through August 16th.

The winning installation was submitted by Tom’s TV of Minnesota, who integrated a flat-panel TV on an oddly shaped log in a unique home built by Minnesota-based Yellowstone Log Homes. Tom Sampson, president of Tom’s TV, explains that wiring was probably the biggest challenge. “All wires were brought up from the basement and routed inside the log utilizing natural cavities in the log as well as boring wire chases as needed,” he says. “The wires exit the log precisely where the lower support for the Chief MSR6096 mount was to be located; this lower support was bored out to create a continuous chase way for the wires to the TV.”

Tom’s TV will receive an Ultimate Driving Experience and travel package from Chief (valued at $2000), bragging rights, and a feature in the November issue of CE Pro magazine, a leading trade publication for customer electronics professionals.

Although the contest was judged solely by CE Pro editors based on creative installation and not product placement, Chief mounts were used in many of the installations, including the mount for a 108” 450 lb. Sharp TV installed by Infinite Entertainment.
